ARTIST BIO
Jessica Rae Gordon is an illustrator and graphic designer based in Toronto, Ontario. She creates artwork using a combination of acrylic paint, cut paper, pencil crayon and ink.
Jessica is an avid recycler and incorporates reclaimed, repurposed and recycled papers into her collages as much as possible. She often uses solid coloured papers, which allow her to draw on her own patterns or shadings. Her style mixes flat areas with dimensionally rendered elements.
She often likes to include nature or themes from her childhood in her art. She references birds, wild animals and indigenous flora. Her illustrations are whimsical and playful with occasionally a hint of the macabre here and there.
Jessica has received her bachelor’s degree with honors in Illustration from Sheridan College. She is currently accepting freelance positions in both illustration and design.
